The Sharing Place is Jersey City's St. Paul Lutheran Church food ministry & has been serving Hudson County residents for 35 years. It offers bags of groceries or ready-made meals to needy people 8:00am-12:00pm on the last two Saturdays of every month. Nutritious food is served to over 600 families & individuals each month...that's approximately 9 tons of food! The Sharing Place has also doubled as a community outreach center, w/ agencies serving low-income populations invited to set up shop on distribution days to help residents see if they are eligible for food stamps, help them sign up for utility assistance, navigate the Affordable Care Act, do health screenings, offer education on nutrition, & provide other social services. The Sharing Place appreciates all donations--cash or food--with the following items most useful to needy neighbors: shelf stable milk such as Parmelat, canned vegetables & fruit, cold cereal or oatmeal, juice (in plastic bottles), peanut butter & jelly, macaroni & cheese, pasta & sauce, baby formula, baby food (in jars), & diapers. Call 201-963-5518 to make sure your contribution has maximum impact.
